Jen Lush - Crush (Official Music Video)

Watch

Info

Filmed during the lull between lightening and hail on the Eyre Peninsula on Wirungu country, the video juxtaposes the domestic with the monumental. The transient and the enduring within a place of coastal isolation. These layers are personal and connect inhabited space with the grandeur of the natural world and the broader universe, revealing the eternal within the temporary. Crush is the fourth video made from the album 'Let Loose The Beating Birds.'

Lyrics :
when you turned to me in the night
when my arms were unattached
and my feet were like ice
water pooling on the sheets
when the crush on my chest
from a small refrigerator
held back my breath
held back my breath
when I was still as a stone
with the sound of your voice in the dark
in the dark
the bed is so cold tonight
i’m looking for the moon
i see it high over the city
trying to pass by my eyes unnoticed
it’s out of my grasp
i bring the tides in and out
with all of my breath
all of my breath
a possum scatters along the gutter like a warning
the night birds have held back their breath with waiting
waiting
